A little tipple

Eating, drinking are the two undeniable pillars of a successful 21st century social life. We all know sport, education and hobbies all add to our well being but only a total mutant-hunch-back-bob-haired-big-nosed loser would imply you can succeed (survive) off the latter. I am a drinker and eater... It's my social manna and the way I forge fast, strong, well judged relationships. Watch someone eat and learn about social standing and class. Drink with them and uncover allegiances and honest truths. Reach culinary or alcohol oblivion and arrive united at a euphoria that bonds forever. We consume and digest as a species and this is the glue that holds us together apart from the slack jawed banana chomping apes. We should be proud of our discoveries in booze and baguettes. Both these glories are miracles that socially and chemically inhance us and the way we relate to each other. No one, to my knowledge, ever went to war over a glass of merlot or a humous dip. Of course booze

Tube-strangers II.

Image
Tube-strangers is back. After the success of the first batch I started papping on the tube again. Once, after Guillaume had been playing with my phone, I was papping a man and the flash went off... I managed to cover it before he noticed. The risks I take, eh? It's really, only a matter of time before I get caught.

Seven months of Kinkies.

Image
For the last seven months I have worked with six superstars who have tickled me, suprised me and inspired me everyday. I'll miss every 'dib-dab', 'road-kill', 'bobert' and 'catch-up' more than they know. It took me a while to work out what made them special but then whilst clearing out Ellie-cat's litter box the penny finally dropped (why it waited until I was on my knees scooping poop I have no idea, but anyway) ...my six are 'ego-less', a quality rarely found in salespeople. They aren't motivated by being right, when someone else is wrong. They're considerate, thoughtful and funny. But, our little family is no more, it's members have grown big enough to fly the nest and see what's beyond the canopy. They're spreading their wings and flying high. Enough avian analogies??? One more!? Please!? It was tweet while it lasted.

Me and my playlist!

Image
Amy Winehouse, Muse, The Killers, Paloma Faith, Lauren Hill, N.E.R.D, Marylin Manson, Tori Amos, Michael Buble, the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs and Katie Melua. How much does our playlist say about us? I like to think I'm eclectic and diverse but another might say I am perhaps a little 'safe' and 'dated'. Well, sod them. The music I listen to reflects my love of high drama and tangible emotion. It has the power to make me feel a religious-like ecstasy or recall the saddest days of my life. Here's my blog dedicated to my playlist; the songs that I wouldn't be with out and sometimes just the moments in a song. Shall we begin? As I said already, sometimes it's just a moment in a song, a bridge, an opening or an ending. The last 1min 23 seconds of 'Mixtape' by Jamie Cullum journeys me away to the clouds where I can fly free of the present. When I open my eyes an find I'm packed on the tube surrounded by armpits I just click back, close my eyes a

Olive's Hear !?!?!

Image
Outside standing around I saw Olive coming towards me. I knew she had been off ill with a bad ear so I asked her about it... Me: Are you late? Olive: Maybe a little Me:  How is your ear? Olive: On the District Line! Me: What??? In honour of this bizarre confused answer I made the following image. Oh dear!
