Mary and Dan's Devon Wedding at the the Tunnels

Image
A few weeks ago I was in Whitby, Yorkshire for the Hen-do of my gorgeous friend Mary - we had a riot drinking our body weight in wine and  listening to far too much Abba. After that weekend I was really excited for the wedding knowing it, too would be exceptional. Then the wedding finally arrived. Held in the stunning Tunnels Devon  with mind blowing sea view and beautiful dramatic cliffs we couldn't have been more impressed. Saoirse, Emily and I had the best time met a whole gang of new friends too. Weddings are my new favourite way to spend a weekend so please start sending your invites now. Thank you See below for some of my pictures of the day and of the happy couple.

Purifyne Review from The Resident, July 2011

I t’s that time of year again when the pre-holiday  panic to shed a few pounds (or if we’re  completely honest a miracle stone) takes a grip  that refuses to yield. This time, however, I  resolved to take a grown-up stance and try something  that would kick start a more long-term lifestyle shift.   And so it was that, after waving a daunting farewell  to the Venti coffees and croissants – my daily sugary  crutches – I found myself in receipt of a giant box of  detox juices, vitamins, and – that most terrifying of  things – an enema kit. My Purifyne Detox had arrived.  Now, I don’t consider myself unusual for regarding  two days’ separation from the Rioja a challenge; in my  world, a helping of strawberry cheesecake and a  banana daiquiri more than account for my five-a-day.  Unsurprisingly then, confronted with a 14-day eating  plan of various fruit juices and herbal teas I feared I’d  bitten off more than I could chew.  Stock photo of man with no self respect On day one I

A Minty Guide to Paris

I’ve always said ‘I like Starbucks, but I wouldn’t want to work there’. This Robert-ism is meant to illustrate the idea that working somewhere, like living somewhere, can erode the magic or mystique of a place. Sometime it’s better just to visit rather than stay. I am not in fact a massive fan of Starbucks for the record and only say this little ditty to make my point clear. I am however a massive fan of Paris and think that this could be a great place to live, not just visit. If I didn’t already love London so much I think I’d be looking for small flats around the fifth arrondissement of Paris otherwise known as the Latin Quarter. Given I now think I am an expert on the city (you can be the judge) I would like to present you my guide to Paris. Firstly, if you are travelling by Eurostar you will find yourself in the not-so-great Gare du Nord Station. Get this bit over quickly and avoid being accosted by strangers. Thieves, (usually Eastern European) expect you to be a littl
