The US has the highest gun ownership rate in the world - an average of 88 guns per 100 people.
Back in 1981, (the year the advert below ran) this was a massive problem, nothing has changed - since then there have been over 60 mass shootings in the States making it a 'regular thing'.

Obama needs to seize the day and turn this terrible tide.
